Thomas A. Fasel is a California licensed Attorney, a Solicitor (Attorney) in England & Wales and is the founding partner of Fasel & Fasel LLP. Mr. Fasel assists businesses and individuals facilitate cross-border transactions, foreign transactions and domestic transactions relating to international trade and finance as well as helping clients enforce international contracts, collect damages and obtain justice in international litigation. Mr. Fasel has assisted clients by advising and drafting international sales contracts, bills of lading, partnership agreements, joint ventures and other international related agreements. He has helped clients settle international contract disputes, recently convincing a European international communications provider to drop all claims against his client for an alleged breach of contract. He has also recently obtained a judgment on behalf of his client for hundreds of thousands of dollars against a European manufacturer for breach of an international sales contract. Mr. Fasel has advised importers and exporters relating to compliance with the US Customs Laws and defended clients in actions brought against them by the United States Customs and Border Protection. Recently, he negotiated an 88% reduction in the settlement for a trademark infringement lawsuit brought by two major international fashion companies, saving his client over two-hundred thousand dollars.

With a deep understanding of US Law, EU Law, the law of England & Wales and the fact that he is licensed as a Solicitor (Attorney) in England & Wales, Mr. Fasel has a specific strategic advantage in representing clients in arbitration proceedings in London relating to international trade disputes. Additionally, Mr. Fasel advises clients in determining customs duties, import and export related trade barriers and advises businesses relating to NAFTA, COGSA, COGSA 92, European Union Law, the WTO and other international treaties affecting trade and international transactions.
Mr. Fasel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame, Law School, obtaining his highly specialized Master of Law (LL.M.) degree in International and Comparative Law. While studying in London, U.K., he was taught by the world's leading international faculty and professionals and gained a specialized understanding and practice in the areas of International Trade, Carriage of Goods by Sea, Latin American Trade, European Intellectual Property, European Union Law and European/United States Comparative Sales Law. In addition, he wrote his thesis on the emerging necessity of the introduction of the electronic bill of lading.
Prior to earning his Master of Law degree, Mr. Fasel worked for the major national law firm of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, LLP, gaining extensive experience defending multinational corporations in variety of complex legal issues.
Mr. Fasel earned his Juris Doctor Degree from Chapman University School of Law where he earned the CALI Award for excellence in the area of Professional Responsibility as well as serving as an editor on the nationally recognized Nexus Journal of Opinion and working as a law clerk for the United States Attorney, Central District of California. Prior to law school, Mr. Fasel worked as a Banker and Auditor.
Mr. Fasel earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Concordia University in Irvine, CA while simultaneously participating as a collegiate pitcher on the Concordia University baseball team. Additionally, he earned the award for Excellence in Mathematics and served as a mathematics and Latin tutor.
Mr. Fasel is a member of the International Law section of the State Bar of California, the International Law section of the American Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association, International Law Section.
